DVD to AVI Conversion – Movavi Videosuite Coupon

by Luke Richards

Converting DVD to AVI files has several advantages. They are single files that can conveniently store an entire movie in one place on your hard drive that takes up less space than a typical DVD file while still maintaining decent quality picture and sound. They are typically stored using a DivX or Xvid codec by a backup program.

AVI files are probably the most common type of movie file that exists for storing large movie files. They are so common that many DVD player manufacturers include support for them, so you can play them on your TV (if you have the right buring software).

An excellent piece of software developed my Movavi to do this kind of thing is the Movavi Videosuite. It can actually do much more than just convert DVD to AVI files (it can also burn, and edit movies and more). It is a complete video editing tool that is used personally as well as professionally by thousands of people.

Using Movavi Videosuite, there are only a few simple steps you need to take to backup DVD to AVI:

1. Run the Videosuite, click the DVD button and Add DVD. This will allow you to backup everything on the DVD. Choose the correct IFO or VOB files that you wish to copy.

2. Select an audio track for the DVD you want to convert (get the correct language…)

3. Choose format for output (AVI is best)

4. Select the place on your hard drive to save the movie after conversion.

5. Click ‘convert’ to start reading from the DVD and saving to your computer.

This is a great way to store DVDs in small file sizes which are still near-DVD quality. If you have a DVD burner and DVD-R DVDs, then you can burn several movies onto one disc!

Only backup movies that you are allowed to back up! Those are movies that you have originally purchased to watch. You are allowed to keep a single backup copy if something happens to the original.
